With a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, José-Ricardo has been a lawyer for over 30 years. He is a partner of Lobo & Lira, the result of the restructuring of Lobo & Ibeas, established in 1974 and which he joined in 1986. His practice focuses on consulting, business structuring and drafting of business contracts, as well as arbitration and judicial and administrative litigation. He is a law professor of the postgraduate school at the PUC-Rio Law Institute and a member of the Council of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro Chapter, since 2007, where he is also a member of the Urbanistic and Real Estate Law Committee – CD.URBI (chairman), of the Committee for the Protection of the Rule of Law – CDEDD (vice-chairman), and of the Environmental Law Committee – CDA (member). He is also a member of the Brazilian Lawyers Institute – IAB and State Director – RJ of the Brazilian Institute for Real Estate Law – IBRADIM.

Graduated in 2007 from the Law School of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Joana developed her professional experience over the 13 years spent with Lobo & Ibeas Advogados, over 5 of which as a partner, until its recent restructuring, which resulted in the foundation of Lobo & Lira Advogados. Both at Lobo & Lira and at Lobo & Ibeas, Joana focused her practice strongly on strategic litigation, contracts and corporate real estate. In such areas, she has represented trade associations in important class actions to challenge the constitutionality of laws, among other significant court proceedings, and advised first-rate companies in the shopping center industry not only in court, but also in the reorganization of their lease instruments and acquisition and structuring of their real estate assets. She is a member and secretary general of the Urbanistic and Real Estate Law Committee – CD.URBI of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro Chapter and member of the Shopping Centers Committee of the the Brazilian Institute for Real Estate Law - IBRADIM, in São Paulo.

With a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2009) and a postgraduate degree from FGV/RJ (LL.M. Litigation – New Challenges in Litigation), Paulo joined Lobo & Ibeas in 2007 as intern and became partner in 2013. At Lobo & Lira Advogados, his practice focuses on strategic litigation and arbitration, while also providing general advice to clients. Throughout his career, he has worked in several types of business litigation cases, having represented clients of industries such as shopping centers, energy, entertainment, real estate, construction, capital markets, food, pension funds, among others.


Com graduação em Direito pela FGV DIREITO RIO (2010), pós-graduação em Direito Empresarial pela FGV DIREITO RIO (2012) e mestrado em Ciências Jurídicas, com ênfase em Direito Comercial Internacional, pela FACULDADE DE DIREITO DA UNIVERSIDADE DE LISBOA (2020), possui experiência em contencioso cível e arbitragem, também desenvolvendo atividade consultiva cível e comercial. Atua em causas envolvendo contratos empresariais, shopping centers, mercado bursátil, recuperação de créditos e responsabilidade civil, entre outras áreas. É fluente em inglês e integra a Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil nos Estados do Rio de Janeiro e de São Paulo.

Daniela holds a law degree (2010) and a postgraduate degree in Private Property Law, both from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ). She joined Lobo & Ibeas Advogados in 2011 as an associate, where she worked until 2013. After working at another traditional law firm, she returned to Lobo & Lira Advogados in 2018, where her practice focuses on strategic litigation and arbitration, in addition to consulting. Throughout her career, she has worked in several types of business litigation cases, having represented clients in different industries such as shopping centers, energy, entertainment, transportation and infrastructure.

Marcos holds a master’s degree in Civil Procedure from the São Paulo University Law School (2019) and a law degree from the Federal University of Pará (2013). During his undergraduate studies, he was a Banco Santander fellow and an exchange student at the University of Lisbon Law School. While in Lisbon, he was also an intern at the renowned Portuguese law firm Sérvulo & Associados. He joined Lobo & Ibeas in May 2016, where he remained after the restructuring that resulted in the foundation of Lobo & Lira Advogados. Since he joined the Firm, he has been acting in strategic and real estate litigation, with special focus on cases concerning the shopping center industry, including in institutional matters, representing clients of the sector in lawsuits involving constitutional law (such as lawsuits to challenge the constitutionality of laws and class writs of mandamus) before several state courts and the higher courts.

Graduated in law in 2015 from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ), he is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree (LL.M.) in Law and Business from Fundação Getúlio Vargas of Rio de Janeiro (FGV-RJ). In 2017, he completed the Arbitration Advocacy Practical Training organized by the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro Chapter. Frederico has been a member of the Firm since the beginning of 2017, when it still operated under the name Lobo & Ibeas. He has experience in advising national and foreign clients in the areas of strategic litigation, arbitration, insurance, administrative law, loan recovery and shopping centers. He speaks English, German and Spanish.

Graduated in law in 2016 from the Mackenzie Presbyterian University Law School, Gabriela was an associate with Lobo & Ibeas Advogados until its recent restructuring. She joined Lobo & Lira since its foundation, always in the civil litigation team and focused on real estate and arbitration, and particularly in court cases related to the interests of shopping centers.

Gabriela graduated in law in 2018 from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro – PUC Rio. Having joined the Firm in 2018, she has been practicing since then in the areas of strategic litigation, arbitration, administrative law, business contracts, real estate, loan recovery and shopping centers. She is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro Chapter. She speaks English.

Flavio is a lawyer and social scientist, and has been practicing law for over 25 years. He holds a doctoral degree in Collective Rights from PUC-SP and has an intense academic activity, teaching in several postgraduate courses, among which FGV, EMERJ (Rio de Janeiro School of Judges), and in a number of renowned Brazilian institutions. Because of those activities, he is also a frequent lecturer, speaking in congresses and seminars in Brazil and abroad. At Lobo & Lira Advogados, he is a special counsel and head of the environmental practice area, drafting legal opinions, advising companies in an advisory and preventive capacity, and representing them in licensing proceedings, in addition to his practice in administrative and judicial litigation. He has been a member of the Council of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro Chapter since 2007, where he is also a member of the Environmental Law Committee (chairman), of the Committee for the Protection of the Rule of Law (member), and of the Urbanistic and Real Estate Law Committee – CD.URBI (member). He is a member of the Brazilian Lawyers Institute – IAB and has more than one hundred articles published in specialized law reviews in Brazil and abroad. He has also coordinated more than 10 books on environmental law, in addition to his own production as an author, notably by means of the works: “Direitos Culturais e Cidadania Ambiental no Cotidiano das Cidades" [“Cultural Rights and Environmental Citizenship in the Everyday Life of the Cities”] and “Tutela Jurídica das Praias Urbanas no Direito Ambiental Brasileiro” [“Legal Protection of the Urban Beaches under Brazilian Environmental Law”], both published by Lumen Juris, of which he is a member of the Editorial Board.
LL.B. from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ) (2016) and postgraduate degree candidate in Civil Procedure Law from Cândido Mendes University. Rafael joined Lobo & Lira Advogados in mid-2019, after working in another traditional Brazilian law firm. His practice focuses on strategic litigation, arbitration, and real estate. He has experience in advising domestic and foreign clients, having represented throughout his career companies in several industries, such as shopping center developers, telecom operators, motor vehicle manufacturers, and construction companies. He speaks [Portuguese and] English.
Graduated in law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro – UERJ (1992). A Public Attorney of the State of Rio de Janeiro since 1996, she has focused her practice on tax and social security law for more than 25 years, both in advisory and in administrative and judicial litigation. She also has experience in the representation of clients in proceedings involving administrative law. Maria Luiza is Lobo & Lira’s special counsel, in charge of the tax practice of the firm.
